أَولىmost deserving البَرِيّةhumankind طُرّاwithout exception أَنthat تُواسِيَهyou support him
أَولى البَرِيّة طُرّا أَن تُواسِيَه
عِندat the time of السرورjoy الذيthe one who واساكsupported you فيin الحَزَنِsorrow
عِند السرور الذي واساك في الحَزَنِ
Of all people, most deserving of your support
The most virtuous of creation should console him,
In joy is the one who supported you in sorrow.
When he consoled you in times of sorrow and grief,
إِنَّindeed الكِرامَthe noble إِذاwhen ماemphatic particle أَسهَلواthey reached level ground ذكرواthey remembered
إِنَّ الكِرامَ إِذا ما أَسهَلوا ذكروا
منwhoever كانused to يَألَفُهُمkeep them company فيin المَنزِلthe abode الخَشِنِrugged
من كان يَألَفُهُم في المَنزِل الخَشِنِ
Indeed, when the noble reach level ground, they remember
The generous, when they get together, surely mention
Whoever kept them company in the rugged abode.
Who kept them company in the barren abode.
