Hold back, Abu Ja‘far! Time has its turns,
Alas Abu Ja'far! And for time, goodness gracious!
and there is room to avoid what causes misgivings.

You sent a lion against his prey,
While you remain at ease, so take heed of when it pounces.
and you are among them, so consider when you will fall.

You gave him a taste of his food; in you he would find,
By the counsel of Al Junayd, Al Fath and Al Ra’id
should his provisions run out, his fill.
