لَئِن كنتَ مَلهىً لِلعُيونِ وَقُرّة

لَئِن كنتَ مَلهىً لِلعُيونِ وَقُرّة

لَقَد صِرتَ حُزناً لِلقُلوبِ الصحائح

لَقَد صِرتَ حُزناً لِلقُلوبِ الصحائح

Though you were a delight and a solace to the eyes,

If you were delight for eyes and joy

you have indeed become a sorrow to sound hearts.

You have become sorrow for sincere hearts

وَهَوّن وَجدي أَنّ يَومك مُدرِكي

وَهَوّن وَجدي أَنّ يَومك مُدرِكي

وَأَنّي غَدا من أَهل تِلكَ الضَّرائِح

وَأَنّي غَدا من أَهل تِلكَ الضَّرائِح

And what eased my anguish was that your day will overtake me,

My passion is less knowing your day will reach me

and that tomorrow I shall be among the dwellers of those tombs.

And tomorrow I'll be of the people of those graves
