And a fresh-picked rose upon a radiant cheek,

Full and fresh—its color puts apples to shame.

He gave the eglantine the fragrance of his breath,

And lent wine the redness of his two cheeks.

Whoever has recovered from the sickness of eyelids—as for me,

I spent the night ailing, while they themselves spent it sound.
