إِنَّماonly المَرءa person صورَةan image
إِنَّما المَرء صورَة
حينَwhen تَمّتit became complete تَناهَتِit reached its end
حينَ تَمّت تَناهَتِ
A person is but an image;
A man is but an image,
when complete, it reaches its end.
once completed, perishes.
أَناI مُذsince كُنتI have been فيin التَصَرthe conduct of affairs (word begins)
أَنا مُذ كُنت في التَصَر
رُفِ(completes 'the conduct of affairs') ليfor me حالُcondition ساعَتيmy hour
رُفِ لي حالُ ساعَتي
Ever since I have been engaged in the conduct
Since I was conceived,
of affairs, my condition has been that of my hour.
reveal to me my present state.
