A lush retreat, and a door forever bolted;
And the wine jar, the wineskin, the ewer, and the bowl.
This is abandon—no mere thing I have heard tell of.
So seize your fill of pleasure: life is but breaths.
I have a beloved, lovely in his coyness, full of languid charm,
Sweet in his ways—there is no harm in kissing him.
If he proves inaccessible, or his favors are hard to win,
Then the cup is the Whisperer, and the purse the Slinker.
