My father be ransom for that tipsy-eyed one! Never did he gaze

without making every sober heart drunk.

    A hope among hopes, slender-waisted and dark-eyed,

upon whom the delicacy of spirits was bestowed.

A soldier who made the heart his cushion,

and his glances a substitute for spears.

I taught him bloodshed with my own lifeblood,

and left him to do wrong without blame.
