ويعذب في محاسنه العذاب
A gazelle for whose sake death is sweet,
A gazelle, in whom death is made sweet
And torment becomes sweet amid his charms.
And torment is found in his beauty

ويجني ورد خديه النقاب
The mouth-veil kisses him with love and longing,
The veil kisses him in love and longing
And the face-veil plucks the roses of his cheeks.
And the veil reaps the roses of his cheeks
