فلقد أنهج المهج

The feast has come—would that it had not!

For it has indeed wearied souls.

ليس فيه لهاشمي

ي سرورٌ ولا فرج

There is in it, for a Hashimite,

There is no joy or solace for the Hashemite

neither joy nor relief.

It is the feast of the people of Q,

م وقاشان والكرج

It is indeed the feast of the people of

And Qashan and Karaj,

Qom, Kashan, and Karaj.

Their faces meet

يتلاقى بياضهم

يتلاقى بياضهم

بقلوبٍ من السبج

بقلوبٍ من السبج

Their whiteness is paired

With hearts of jet.
