قلت للنزلة حلي

وانزلي غير لهاتي

وانزلي غير لهاتي

I said to the catarrh, “Settle,

I said to the home, my adornment,

and descend somewhere other than my uvula;

Come down, not to this one.

واتركي حلقي بحقي

فهو دهليز حياتي

فهو دهليز حياتي

and leave my throat alone, for my sake,

And leave my throat in its right,

for it is the vestibule of my life.”

For it is the hallway of my life.
