هو البحر إلا أنه عذب موردٍ

هو البحر إلا أنه عذب موردٍ

ومن عجبٍ أن العذوبة في البحر

ومن عجبٍ أن العذوبة في البحر

He is the sea—except that what I drink from him is sweet;

He is the sea, except that his waters are sweet;

And what astonishes me is that sweetness should dwell in the sea.

And it is a wonder that sweetness is in the sea.
