محمدُ ما أعددت للقبر والبلى

وللملكين الواقفين على القبر

وللملكين الواقفين على القبر

Muhammad, what have you prepared for the grave and decay,

Muhammad, you did not prepare for the grave and decay

And for the two angels standing over the grave?

Nor for the two angels standing over the grave

وأنت مصر لا تراجع توبةً

وأنت مصر لا تراجع توبةً

ولا ترعوي عما يذم من الأمر

ولا ترعوي عما يذم من الأمر

While you persist, not returning to repentance,

And you, Egypt, do not retract repentance

Nor desisting from what is blameworthy in conduct.

Nor do you refrain from that which is blameworthy

تبيت على خمرٍ تعاقر دنها

تبيت على خمرٍ تعاقر دنها

وتصبح مخموراً مريضا من الخمر

وتصبح مخموراً مريضا من الخمر

You spend the night with wine, drinking deeply from its jar,

You spend the night drinking wine again and again

And in the morning you are drunk, sick from the wine.

And wake up drunk, sick from wine

سيأتيك يومٌ لا تحاول دفعه

سيأتيك يومٌ لا تحاول دفعه

فقدم له زاداً إلى البعث والحشر

فقدم له زاداً إلى البعث والحشر

A day will come to you that you will not try to ward off;

A day will come which you cannot ward off

So send ahead provisions for it, for the journey to resurrection and the gathering.

So prepare provision for the Resurrection and Gathering
