فقد لقيت بضري مثل ما لاقى
May God not torment a dead man who used to sustain me.
May God not have mercy on one who revived me when dead,
For in my suffering I have faced the like of what he faced.
For I have met the same fate that he met.

فذقت من بعده بالموت ما ذاقا
Death folded him away, folding his generosity away from me.
Death has folded him along with his virtues,
So after him, through death, I tasted what he had tasted.
So after him, I have tasted death as he tasted.
