وجارية عبرت للطواف

وعبرتها حذراً تدمع

وعبرتها حذراً تدمع

And a young woman passed by to circumambulate,

A maid passed by to circumambulate

her tears flowing in fear.

As she passed, tears of caution fell

فقلت ادخلي البيت لا تجزعي

فقلت ادخلي البيت لا تجزعي

ففيه الأمان لمن يجزع

ففيه الأمان لمن يجزع

So I said, "Enter the House; do not be afraid,

I said, enter the house, do not grieve

for within it is safety for whoever fears.

In it is safety for those in fear

سدانته لبني شيبة

سدانته لبني شيبة

فقالت ومن شيبة أفزع

فقالت ومن شيبة أفزع

Its custodianship belongs to the sons of Shayba."

Its doorkeepers are the sons of Shaybah

She said, "But it is gray hair I fear!"

She said, and who is Shaybah I should fear?
