تطبَّبْ برأي الصَّبي والمَرَهْ

تطبَّبْ برأي الصَّبي والمَرَهْ

ولا تَقْرَبَنَّ بني سُكَّرَهْ

ولا تَقْرَبَنَّ بني سُكَّرَهْ

Treat yourself on the advice of a boy and a woman;

Take the advice of the youth and the woman

and never approach the sons of Sukkara;

And do not go near the tribe of Sukkara

ففي كلِّ دارٍ لهم مأتمٌ

ففي كلِّ دارٍ لهم مأتمٌ

وفي كلِّ أرضٍ لهم مَقْبَرَهْ

وفي كلِّ أرضٍ لهم مَقْبَرَهْ

for in every house they have a funeral,

For in every house they have a funeral

and in every land they have a graveyard.

And in every land they have a grave
