وَاِطْرُدُوا طارِقَ الكَرَى عَن جُفوني
Torment me with your abandonment—torment me.
You torment me with your abandonment, you torment me
And drive sleep, that night visitor, from my eyelids.
And banish the dreams from my eyelids

Or grant me tears; perhaps the wellspring of tears
Grant me tears, perhaps the blood's aid
Will one day aid me in my love for you.
Will help me one day get over your love

سَترَ الشَّكُّ فيه وَجْهَ اليَقينِ
Wasting sickness has left only a remnant of me,
Grief left nothing of me
In which doubt has veiled the face of certainty.
Doubt veiled the face of certainty

أَفَأمْحُو ما خُطَّ فَوقَ جَبيني
My passion for you was a decree of old;
My passion for you was a foregone destiny
Shall I then erase what was inscribed upon my brow?
Can I erase what's engraved on my brow?
