يا مَن أتانا سَرِقَهْ
بمُهْجَةٍwith a heart محترِقَهْburning
بمُهْجَةٍ محترِقَهْ
O you who came to us in secret,
O you who came to us as a thief
with a burning heart,
With a burning gift
جَدّكَyour grandfather ياO ذاyou لمdid not يُجِزْpermit
جَدّكَ يا ذا لم يُجِزْ
أخْذَكyour taking منّاfrom us صَدَقَهْalms
أخْذَك منّا صَدَقَهْ
your grandfather, O you, did not permit
Your grandfather, oh you, did not allow
your taking alms from us.
