ياO حائزاًpossessor of غَايَthe utmost of كلِّevery فَضْلٍexcellence
يا حائزاً غَايَ كلِّ فَضْلٍ
تَضِلُّloses its way فيin كُنْهِهِits innermost essence الإحاطَهْfull comprehension
تَضِلُّ في كُنْهِهِ الإحاطَهْ
O possessor of the utmost of every excellence,
O you who have attained every virtue
In whose depths full comprehension loses its way;
Yet lose yourself in comprehending it
وَمَنْand one who تَرَقَّىrose إلىto محلٍّa station
وَمَنْ تَرَقَّى إلى محلٍّ
أَحْكَمَfirmly secured فوقabove السّهَاal-Suhā مَنَاطَهْits point of attachment
أَحْكَمَ فوق السّهَا مَنَاطَهْ
And you who rose to a station,
Whoever has ascended to glory
Firmly securing its anchor above al-Suhā:
Has firmly established his place above the stars
إلىuntil متىwhen أُسْعَطُI am dosed through the nose التَمَنّيlonging
إلى متى أُسْعَطُ التَمَنّي
ولاand not تَرَىyou consider المنّthe bestowal of favors بالوِسَاطَهْthrough intercession
ولا تَرَى المنّ بالوِسَاطَهْ
How long shall I be dosed with longing as snuff,
How long will I drag my wishes
While you do not consider bestowing favors through intercession?
Without attaining my desire through mediation
