نحنwe واللهby God فىin زمانan age غشومcruel
نحن والله فى زمان غشوم
لوif رأيناهwe saw it فىin المنامa dream فزعناwe would be terrified
لو رأيناه فى المنام فزعنا
We are, by God, in a cruel age;
We are, by God, in a gloomy time
if we saw it in a dream, we would be terrified.
If we saw it in a dream, we'd be alarmed
يصبحwake up الناسthe people فيهin it منbecause of سوءwretchedness حالcircumstances
يصبح الناس فيه من سوء حال
حقit is fitting منwhoever ماتdied منهمamong them أنto يهناbe congratulated
حق من مات منهم أن يهنا
People in it wake to such wretched circumstances
People in it become despondent
that whoever among them dies deserves to be congratulated.
Those who died from it deserve condolences
