  1. يقولون لى أصبحت فى العلم واحدا

    وفي الشعر والاداب مالك ثانى

    They tell me, “You have become unrivaled in learning,

    and in poetry and letters you have no equal.”

  2. فقلت صدقتم أيها الناس اننى

    كذاك ولكن فى حر ام زمانى

    So I said, “You speak truly, O people: I am

    indeed so—but in the cunt of my era’s mother.”
