Two close companions they were in life, and they have
Two people lived their lives, and then

ياO مَغرِبَsetting-place القَمَرَينِthe two moons لَيتَكَwould that you مَطلِعٌa rising-place
يا مَغرِبَ القَمَرَينِ لَيتَكَ مَطلِعٌ
أَولَيتَor would that أَولَيتَyou bestowed الَّذيthat which تُستَودَعُyou are entrusted with
أَولَيتَ أَولَيتَ الَّذي تُستَودَعُ
O setting-place of the two moons, would that you were a rising-place!
O you who set like the two moons, if only you would rise
Or would that you gave back what is entrusted to you!
or set forever, O resting place!

إِنَّ السَّفيهَ بِكُلِّ شَيءٍ مولَعُ
The sacred law weeps while Ibn Nuh laughs.
The Law weeps while Noah's son laughs.
Indeed, the fool is infatuated with everything.
Truly the fool is enamored of everything.
حَسبُenough for اِبنِthe son of نوحٍNuh أَنَّهُthat he is عَمَلٌa deed كَماjust as

It is enough for Ibn Nuh that he is a deed, as
It is enough for Noah's son that he acts
the Book that we follow has declared.
as the Book told him, which we follow.
