ترىyou see قطراتِdrops الطلِّthe dew كالدرِّlike pearls فوقهاupon her
إذاwhen انتفضتshe shakes herself فيin الأيكِthe grove تنثرُهُshe scatters it نثراa scattering
You see the dewdrops like pearls upon her;
The raindrops are like pearls atop it
when she shakes herself in the grove, she scatters them all about.
When they shake on the branch, it scatters them
إِذاwhen فرقتهُshe disperses it ألّفَgathers together الغيمthe clouds غيرَهُa replacement for it
عليهاupon her فقدso indeed شبهتُهاI have likened her قينةُa songstress سكرىdrunken
When she disperses them, the clouds gather more
If the cloud separates them, it brings together others
upon her; indeed, I have likened her to a drunken songstress
I compared them to the intoxicating wine
تزاحمُshe jostles أخرىanother woman مثلهاlike her بعقودهاwith her necklaces
ولمand did not ترضَconsent باسترجاعِto retrieving منثورِهاwhat she had scattered كِبراout of pride
who jostles another like herself with her necklaces,
That competes with another like it in its beads
and would not retrieve what she had scattered, out of pride.
And is not pleased with retrieving its scattered pearls out of pride
