It sang, with drops of dew upon its wings.
He sings, and above his wings falls the dew of dawn,
And the cloud fulfills for the buttercup what it promised.
And the cloud fulfills what it promised the gardens.

في الجوَّ ريحٌ فتلوي متنَهُ أودا
A slender sprig of basil sways with it, wooed
The wind plays with him, caressing his body in the air,
In the air by a breeze that bends its back into a curve.
Swaying his frame this way and that.

مُصلياً إِن تلقَى سجدةً سَجدا
When it rises and brushes the ground, you would think it
When he takes off alone, and the earth thinks him
A worshipper who, on encountering a prostration verse, prostrates.
Prostrate in prayer if he lowers his head.

It has three colors, in which you seem to see
He has three colors that vie with each other—
Emerald and agate lying beside hail.
Emerald, ruby, and chilly white.
