وانظر إلى ملكِ النّصارى كُلِّها

وانظر إلى ملكِ النّصارى كُلِّها

كيفَ استقادَ إليكَ وَهوَ مُبادرُ

كيفَ استقادَ إليكَ وَهوَ مُبادرُ

And behold the king of all the Christians:

how he has submitted to you, hastening forward.

والخوفُ يَقذفُهُ إليك كأنّهُ

والخوفُ يَقذفُهُ إليك كأنّهُ

كرةٌ لها في الصَّولجانِ مكاسرُ

كرةٌ لها في الصَّولجانِ مكاسرُ

And fear hurls him toward you, as though he were

a ball driven this way and that by the polo mallet.
