The gazelle’s neck bears the form of my own neck,

And the fingertips of full-breasted maidens are among my necklaces.

It deepens tenderness within my soul, and my soul

Is told, “For God’s sake, give more!”

When my songs rise, they draw to me

Hearts unlike the heart of a lovesick man.

And in my breast the strings have a yearning

That stirs longing in the lovesick man’s soul.
