وماءٍand water كمثلِlike الرّاحwine جارِflowing يزيدنيgives me more
وماءٍ كمثلِ الرّاح جارِ يزيدني
نشاطاًvigor فيُجريand thus sets flowing كلevery معنىthought علىthrough ذهنيmy mind
نشاطاً فيُجري كل معنى على ذهني
And water, flowing like wine, gives me
Like the wind's flowing water it gives me
vigor, setting every thought coursing through my mind.
Vigour, carrying every meaning through my mind,
يمرُّpasses علىover حَبائهits pebbles (uncertain reading) فكأنّهُso it is as though it
يمرُّ على حَبائه فكأنّهُ
صفاclarity الدمعِof tears فيin عِقدِthe necklace of الفتاةشthe girl (apparent typo) التيwhom أعنيI mean
صفا الدمعِ في عِقدِ الفتاةش التي أعني
It passes over its pebbles [uncertain reading], as though it were
Passing by its loves as though it were
the clarity of tears in the necklace of the girl I mean.
The clarity of a girl's teardrops, the one I mean.
