فلكٌ يَضيق بصبرها حيزومُها
And a heavy-limbed one—you think she is
Heavy-limbed, she thinks herself
A ship, her chest constricted by her patience.
A planet, her patience too small for her orbit.

مَلَكٌ يُلازمُ كبحَها ويُسيمُها
She runs backward, as though before her
She runs backwards as if ahead of her
An angel continually reins her in and torments her.
Stalks an angel checking her pace and her passion.

سوداء مُقبلةٌ عليك غيومُها
Then, when she descends, you imagine a cloud,
When she swoons you know a black cloud
Black, its clouds advancing toward you.
Is approaching, its stormy gloom over you.
