A wondrous sight in the structures of a hall,
A splendid sight in the council's halls
before which the halls of nobles bowed.
Where the nobles' councils bowed down to him

Radiant, and as though suspended
Radiant, as if attached
from the star, without primary or secondary flight feathers.
To the stars without feet or fears

As if a row of waving branches came out
Mansur from canopies of willow.
To al-Mansur without tiredness from the willows

They rose toward you, as though their necks were
They rose to you as if their necks
the necks of startled fawns.
Were the necks of ostriches from the wilderness

حركاتُ أيدٍ بالسّلامِ لطافِ
The east wind comes from their breath; their branches
The morning breeze from its soul so its branches
are the motions of delicate hands in greeting.
Are motions of hands greeting gently

Their leaves hung and jostled one another:
And its leaves clung and pushed against each other
indeed, the sides of the neck are a playground for swords.
Indeed, tales are the playground of swords

They displayed emerald before you, then turned,
It presented you with emeralds and changed
and showed you a hue like pure silver.
Leaving you a color like pure mud

A secret like pure mud
