يَبتَهج الناسُ بِأعيادهم

من أجل ذَبحٍ أو لإِفطارِ

People rejoice in their holidays

For the sake of slaughter or breakfast

وإنما عُظم سروري به

لِلَثم من أهوى بلا عار

Yet my greatest joy is in

Kissing the one I love without shame

أرقُبها حولاً إلى قابل

لأنها غاية أوطاري

I wait for her always until I meet

For she is the aim of my aspirations
