إنif زلتslipped البغلةthe mule منfrom تحتهbeneath him
إن زلت البغلة من تحته
فإنthen indeed فيin زلتهاher slipping عذراan excuse
فإن في زلتها عذرا
If the mule slipped beneath him,
If the mule should slip from under him,
Then surely there is an excuse for her slipping:
There’s an excuse for her slipping,
حملهاhe made her carry منof علمهhis knowledge شاهقاًtowering
حملها من علمه شاهقاً
أوor منfrom ندىbounty راحتهhis palm بحراa sea
أو من ندى راحته بحرا

Bearing aloft one whose knowledge is vast,
Or a sea of bounty from his palm.
Or one whose generosity is an ocean.
