ولمّا أقال الله عثرتكَ التي

قضى الله فيها بالنّجاة وقدّرا

قضى الله فيها بالنّجاة وقدّرا

And when God lifted you from the stumble in which

When God relieved you of your stumbling which

God had decreed deliverance and ordained it,

God had decreed in it salvation and ordained

تهلّلَتِ الدُّنيا وأشرف نورُها

تهلّلَتِ الدُّنيا وأشرف نورُها

وأقبلَ سعدٌ كان بالأمسِ أدبرا

وأقبلَ سعدٌ كان بالأمسِ أدبرا

the world beamed with joy, and its light shone forth,

The world rejoiced and its light dawned

and good fortune came, having turned away yesterday.

And happiness came that yesterday was fleeting
