ونطاق الهوى عليها يناط

Flowing robes of affection drape over it,

The love expressed upon it multiplies,

And passion’s girdle is fastened upon them.

And the necklace of passion upon it is clasped.

ما تبدت غاداته الغيد إلا

Never do its graceful maidens appear

Its perfumed cheeks appeared not

Without the veil of tedium being lifted from them.

But the veil of boredom from it is undone.

هو للسامعين نشوة خمر

ومقالي التفريط لا الإفراط

ومقالي التفريط لا الإفراط

For listeners, it is the intoxication of wine,

It is to listeners the intoxication of wine
