    even if heedlessness and blindness have turned them away.

    فكلٌّ أمامَ الفصلِ فيه سواءُ

    He came to us by God's grace to judge between us;

    so all stand equal before that judgment.

    ولِلْحقِّ عند الطالبين بهاءُ

    You called, fearing no hater's enmity;

    truth has splendor for those who seek it.

    ولِلصِّدقِ بين السامعينَ علاءُ

    Truthful and trustworthy, untainted by even a sprig of thumam grass;

    truthfulness is exalted among those who hear.

    their grudges, though truth is free of them.

    had you wished, heaven would have poured down punishment.

    your Lord guides whom He wills to guidance.

    but from them come denial and hostility in its way.

    only wretchedness drives transgressors to despair.

    payment for it—and those made to pay complain.

    to God, who judges between us as He wills.

    The schemers' plotting will not endure.

    every worldly good is overtaken by destruction.

    with you to an eminence no eminence has attained.

    You meet the wrongdoer with kindness and guard yourself

    with forbearance, in whose arena cowards have fallen.

    You grow angry for the All-Merciful's sake, not for any need

    of your own—so let the witnesses attest to it.

    What, then, can poetry say after it has recited

    the testimony of the Lord of the Throne, which is sufficient?

    praise from the Lord of all servants is enough for you.

    So may God bless you from above His heaven,

    and grant you what pleases you, however you wish.
