    Leave aside whoever falsely claims brotherhood with you.

    Indeed, to those who understand, brotherhood is deeds.

    And a brother is only one whose brotherhood becomes clear

    When some great calamity befalls you.

    And no affection endures unless accompanied

    By good deeds, even if they show you remorse.

    فلا رجاءَ لمن لا يعرفُ الهِمَما

    So place no hope in people devoid of goodness;

    For there is no hope for one who knows no lofty aspirations.

    وإن يروكَ بخيرٍ يَرْعَوُوا قُدُما

    If you call on them over a little trouble, they turn away;

    And if they see you prospering, they return, pressing forward.

    So say, 'Peace,' for God's decree reaches its goal.

    And one who builds glory is not like one who tears it down.

    Each person's striving will one day bring him to his destination.

    And one who builds glory is not like one who tears it down.

    فكلُّ آتٍ سيبلَى كالذي انصرمَا

    So fashion for yourself what you will meet God with;

    For all that comes will perish, like what has passed.
