A blessing from the Judge at every moment

A prayer from the faithful at every moment

Upon Ahmad the Chosen, light amid the darkness.

Upon Ahmad the Chosen, the light of sanctuaries

أيا حاديا للعيس يحدو بسرعة

أيا حاديا للعيس يحدو بسرعة

فديتك خذ نحو السكان مكة

فديتك خذ نحو السكان مكة

O driver of pale camels, urging them swiftly with song,

O guide to Jesus, hasten with speed

May I be your ransom; head toward Mecca's inhabitants.

I sacrifice myself for you, head towards the inhabitants of Mecca

رويدك خذ مني حديثاً منظما

رويدك خذ مني حديثاً منظما

لكيما تبلغلي سلام أحبتي

لكيما تبلغلي سلام أحبتي

Gently now; take from me a well-ordered message,

Go slowly, take from me an organized speech

So that you may convey my greetings to my loved ones.

وذلك حيث الشمل مجتمع بهم

وذلك حيث الشمل مجتمع بهم

بأوطانهم اذ كان في خير نعمة

بأوطانهم اذ كان في خير نعمة

And that was where the company was gathered with them,

And that is where they are gathered together with them

In their homelands, when all was in the finest bliss.

In their homelands if they are in good grace

ومن بعد ذاك الحال سرعا ابادنا

ومن بعد ذاك الحال سرعا ابادنا

خطوب الليالي والصدود الثقيلة

خطوب الليالي والصدود الثقيلة

And after that state, we were swiftly laid waste

And after that situation, hurry and inform us

By the calamities of the nights and burdensome estrangement.

Of the adversities of the nights and difficult separations

وأبنا بما قد يعجز الفهم حصره

وأبنا بما قد يعجز الفهم حصره

بتشتيت جمع وافتراق العشيرة

بتشتيت جمع وافتراق العشيرة

And we returned with what the mind may fail to encompass,

And inform us with what the mind falls short of comprehending

Through the scattering of the company and the separation of the clan.

Of the scattering of the gathering and the separation of the clan

وحلف ضني قد صرت حيران دائماً

وحلف ضني قد صرت حيران دائماً

ومن أجل ذا ألف السهاد لمقلة

ومن أجل ذا ألف السهاد لمقلة

And, a companion of wasting sickness, I have become ever bewildered.

And an avaricious covenant that I have become perplexed by permanently

And for this reason, sleeplessness has become familiar to the eye.

And for that reason I befriended insomnia

ألا هل يجودن الزمان بقربة

ألا هل يجودن الزمان بقربة

وفي العيد جمع الشمل في ذي تهامة

وفي العيد جمع الشمل في ذي تهامة

Ah, will time ever grant nearness,

Will time be generous with a drink?

And, at the feast, reunion in this Tihamah?

And on Eid, gather the clan in Tihama

وأتحف بالمأمول والوصل والبقا

وأتحف بالمأمول والوصل والبقا

بحضرة خير الرسل أحظى برؤية

بحضرة خير الرسل أحظى برؤية

And may I be gifted with what I hope for, union, and abiding,

And gift me with hopes, reunion and permanence

In the presence of the best of messengers, may I be blessed with a vision.

In the presence of the best of messengers, I will be blessed with seeing

وفي حضرة الفرد الرحيم مشاهد

وفي حضرة الفرد الرحيم مشاهد

لحضرة ذي الأنوار أسعد وأثبت

لحضرة ذي الأنوار أسعد وأثبت

And in the presence of the One, the Merciful, beholding

And in the presence of the unique and merciful, witnessing

The presence of the bearer of lights, I rejoice and stand firm.

In the presence of the one with lights, more fortunate and steadfast

أيا خاتم الارسال أحمدنا الذي

أيا خاتم الارسال أحمدنا الذي

سما مجده فوقا على ذي الخليقة

سما مجده فوقا على ذي الخليقة

O seal of messengership, our Ahmad, whose

O seal of prophethood, our beloved Ahmad

Glory rose high above this creation,

Whose glory transcended the best of creations

فارجوك خير الناس جدلي بزورة

فارجوك خير الناس جدلي بزورة

وايصالي البيت العتيق ببكة

وايصالي البيت العتيق ببكة

So I implore you, best of humankind: grant me a visit,

So I beseech you, the best of people, visit me soon

And bring me to the Ancient House in Bakkah.

And take me to the Ancient House in Mecca

فارجوك تسعدني بدفني جواركم

فارجوك تسعدني بدفني جواركم

بفرقد أرض في بقيع المدينة

بفرقد أرض في بقيع المدينة

So I beseech you to gladden me with burial beside you,

I beseech you, make me happy with burying me next to you

By a star of the earth, in the Baqiʿ of Medina.

In a shrine of land in the Baqi’ cemetery of Medina

ومن غير تعريف فاني هاشم

ومن غير تعريف فاني هاشم

عبيدكم الجاني شديد المحبة

عبيدكم الجاني شديد المحبة

And without introduction, I am Hashim,

Without an introduction, I am Hashim

Your humble servant, the sinner, fervent in love,

Your fervent loving servant

وابن الفتى عثمان من دام فيكم

وابن الفتى عثمان من دام فيكم

مسامر في الحضرات وجه المهابة

مسامر في الحضرات وجه المهابة

And son of the young man Uthman, who remained among you,

And the son of Othman, for as long as I remain with you

Conversing by night, in the presences, with the face of majesty.

An entertainer in the esteemed presence

فدارك رسول اللَه ابناً تالقا

فدارك رسول اللَه ابناً تالقا

بوجد له أفنى قواه بحرقة

بوجد له أفنى قواه بحرقة

So aid, O Messenger of God, a son aglow

So your home, O Messenger of God, met a son

With his longing, which consumed his strength in burning anguish.

Who exhausted his strength with passion

وصل على الهادي النبي شفيعنا

وصل على الهادي النبي شفيعنا

بيوم اللقا والآل طراً رحيمة

بيوم اللقا والآل طراً رحيمة

And bless the Guide, the Prophet, our intercessor

Send your prayers upon the guiding Prophet, our intercessor

On the day of meeting, and all his family, with a merciful blessing,

On the day we meet, and his family, a merciful path

وأصحابه الحزب الليوث لدى الوغى

وأصحابه الحزب الليوث لدى الوغى

مقيم لدين اللضه فازوا بحالة

مقيم لدين اللضه فازوا بحالة

And his companions, the band of lions amid battle,

And his companions, lions in the face of strife

Upholding God's religion, they attained a state.

Who established the religion of God, and won an exalted state

وسلم عليهم ما تغرد طائر

وسلم عليهم ما تغرد طائر

على فنن الاغصان ليلا وضحوة

على فنن الاغصان ليلا وضحوة

And grant them peace as long as a bird sings

And send your greetings upon them for as long as a bird sings

Upon a bough amid the branches, by night and in the forenoon.

In the branches at night and at dawn
