ثلاثٌ قد حَلَلْنَ حِمى فؤادي

ثلاثٌ قد حَلَلْنَ حِمى فؤادي

ويُعطينَ الرغائبَ من ودادي

ويُعطينَ الرغائبَ من ودادي

Three women have settled in my heart’s inviolable preserve,

Three women have settled in the sanctuary of my heart,

and are granted all they desire out of my love.

And they are granted the bounties of my love.

نظمتُ خيوطهنَّ بخيطِ قلبي

نظمتُ خيوطهنَّ بخيطِ قلبي

فهنَّ قَرابتي حتى التنادي

فهنَّ قَرابتي حتى التنادي

I have strung their threads upon the thread of my heart,

I strung their threads with the thread of my heart,

and thus they are my kin until the Day of Calling.

So they are my kin until the Day of Calling.

فَمَنْ يكُ حَلَّ من قلبٍ مَحَلاً

فَمَنْ يكُ حَلَّ من قلبٍ مَحَلاً

فهنَّ مع النواظرِ والسَّوادِ

فهنَّ مع النواظرِ والسَّوادِ

So if unbinding them from my heart is impossible,

And whoever may have found a place within a heart—

then they remain with the gazing eyes and their black pupils.

These three are with the eyes and their dark pupils.
