أَسَنى ضَوءِ صُحرَةَ بِالفُقرَةِ
أَبصَرتَyou saw أَمor تَنَصُّبَthe upward flare بَرقِof lightning
أَبصَرتَ أَم تَنَصُّبَ بَرقِ
Was it the radiance of Suhrah's light at al-Fuqrah
The desert's glow shone through the skylight
that you saw, or the upward flare of lightning?
Did you see or was it just a flash of lightning that stood erect?
