Only justice has established security among nations,

And only those who honor their pledges have secured peace,

Those who speak as their consciences dictate,

Without siding with wielders of brute force and vengeance.

Their history of standing for what is right brings them honor,

In the Security Council or in the United Nations.

They weigh matters when they speak, and if they judge,

It is with justice, not with falsehood and accusations.

Tell the powerful one whose claws have grown long

Among the people: no state of affairs lasts forever.

God changes His servants' circumstances; have you, then,

Been told of His crushing of ʿAd, and of Iram?

    And peoples have rights in their homelands;

If they do not gain them, they will not hold back from shedding blood.

So support every wronged person harmed

By the powerful one's injustice, and respect the sanctity of pledges.

    And put justice into practice: justice brought it into being;

Without justice, it would neither have arisen nor stood.

Its charter expressly stipulated that there be no collusion,

Nor siding with those guilty of injustice and crime.

Then the policies of the powerful transformed it into

One that pays no heed to morals and values.

There is no religion in politics whose aid can be sought

Against injustices between the litigant and the arbiter.

The religion of politics in this world is its own interests:

There is no harm in profit, whether lawful or forbidden.

If they speak to you, it is with the lies they know,

And with a conscience that has been tainted by greed.

Those consciences, if cast, would be made of stone,

Hard, and of greed marked by hatred.

Nothing equals justice: justice sets it right,

And sets people right, Arabs and non-Arabs alike.
