O leaders of the Arabs, if you were earnest

In your words, no scoundrel would remain in Palestine.

Enough chatter about the problem of displacement!

For we have grown sick of speeches and chanting.

For a third of a century of our lives has passed in vain.

Neither has Jerusalem returned, nor does victory come to us.

Indeed, we have left the sons of Zion at ease,

Then taken suffering as provisions to nourish us.

Whatever grudges we nurture and inflame—

May God not bless a contagion that has spread among us!

When, my people, shall we abandon bickering?

When shall we prove our brotherhood to the world?

When shall we wash away the shame clinging to us?

When shall we remove the enemies from our lands?

When shall we set it ablaze, deep crimson red?

When shall we crush [accursed] scoundrels?

Even if we sacrifice a million, there is no wrong:

Honored is what is sacrificed for; honored are those who sacrifice.

Mutual abandonment has prevailed among us, instead

Of cooperation, while the Qur'an calls us

To prepare our forces, not squander them,

O leaders of the Arabs, on what brings us no benefit,

And to mobilize them against the tyrants; for

The time has come, the time has come, to annihilate those who are hostile to us.

Ah, Palestine, how much anguish fills the soul!

And the most painful wound is the one our own hands have made bleed.

Distance does not distract us, even if far apart

Our homes may be; no, nor do terrors deter us.

For we are one body: when a limb complains of pain,

We keep vigil for it and answer the one who calls us.

    فالحرب عن لجنة التوفيق تغنينا

    I know no solution but war, which we kindle;

For war spares us the need for the conciliation committee.

And in retribution there is life; so become [flames],

That guide and burn whoever assails us with treachery.

We are not captives of a law and systems

Coming from the West; for the Qur'an suffices for us.

So no, by your Lord—no, they will never believe

Until you see them content with God's judgment.

Discord caused the loss of Andalusia,

Yet we took no warning, and so lost Palestine.

I think I do not know what it will bring—

The disease of discord that invades our dwellings.

Had we held fast to our Islam in practice,

Our herald of death would not have proclaimed our demise through the years.

For Palestine will not return to our nation

Except through our unity; so draw inspiration from the faith.
