Do you deny the moan of sorrow in the wind?

And is it anything but the echo of your grief in the darkness?

You stayed awake while the people around you snored in slumber,

And your worry kept one eyelid apart from the other.

    And you were alarmed that injustice had settled over all;

For in the hills there is as much of it as in the plain and on rugged ground.

Would you rouse them by breathing spirit into their midst,

As the wind swells the sails of ships?

Not so fast, O you who deem justice a blessing!

And injustice is nothing but a fancy born of conjecture.

And where do people stand in relation to it, when they are

Ores of diverse kinds, in intelligence and in dullness of mind?
