لِسُعدى موحِشٌ طَلَلٌ قَديمُ

بِريمٍ رُبُمّا أَبكاكَ ريمُ

بِريمٍ رُبُمّا أَبكاكَ ريمُ

An old, desolate remnant of Su'da's dwelling lies

Sauda has a deserted ancient ruin,

At Rim; many a time has a gazelle made you weep.

Where, at times, traces of rainfall make you weep.
