Ibn Ja'da is away at pasture in al-Buwayn,
while the sons of Khafaja hunt the fox.

I felt affronted by what I had seen, and it distressed me;
and I grew angry—if only I could find an outlet for my anger!

Yet I do see another clan there,
among those who camp on grassy al-Amil.

and when they drink, I am invited to drink.

I do not retire for the night until I too have played.
