As for Hakim, I sought his brain
When a wise man, I sought his brain,
And his head’s resting-place with the sword’s edge.
And weighed his mind against a blade.

بعد العزيمة ليتني لم أفعل
And when I charge into battle, I do not say,
And when I attacked what's hateful, I did not say,
After resolving, ‘Would that I had not done it.’
After resolve, "I wish I hadn't done."
