I will carry my day from the voids of my stars,

and etch my image in the seasoned orbit.

My tomorrow—I see no mirrors unveiled within it,

as though I were a journey through restored ruin.

I sprinkle the expanse with silence and go on, drawn by

dust that has grown along the roads upon my mouth.

And I conceal my secret when passion sweeps over me,

so that I do not pray in the forbidden place.

The days torment me as they pass,

and I am crucified when time slips out of my blood.

I prepare my waiting near the resting place of my cry,

and leave my warmth for inevitable cold.

And I rise from the cliff of truth; I see nothing

but myself as a certainty in fragmented time.

“I have grown weary of life's burdens, and whoever lives

eighty years—no father to you!—will grow weary.”
