وَابأَبِيah, may my father be ransom مَنْthe one whom لَسْتُI do not أَنْساهُforget him
وَابأَبِي مَنْ لَسْتُ أَنْساهُ
وَمَنْand the one whom عَلَىdespite الهِجْرانِestrangement أَهْواهُI love him
وَمَنْ عَلَى الهِجْرانِ أَهْواهُ
Ah, may my father be ransom for the one I never forget,
By my father I will not forget him
and the one I love despite his estrangement.
The one whom I loved in separation
إِنْif واصَلَhe has persisted in النِّسْيانَforgetting لِيme فِيin الْهَوىlove
إِنْ واصَلَ النِّسْيانَ لِي فِي الْهَوى
فَإِنَّيِthen indeed I وَاصَلْتhave persisted in ذِكْراهُremembering him
فَإِنَّيِ وَاصَلْت ذِكْراهُ
If, in love, he has persisted in forgetting me,
If forgetfulness joins me in love
then I have persisted in remembering him.
Then indeed I have connected his memory
