والذَّنْبُ ذَنْبُكَ إذا أَغْرَيْتَ سقْيَكَ بي
Someone other than you reproaches me for the eye's sidelong glances.
You blame me for glancing at others,
And the fault is yours, when you urged your serving of drink upon me.
Yet the fault is yours when you intoxicate me with your love.

O you who make wine's drinker bear its blame,
O you who blame the wind for the swaying of the drunkard,
Approach with a face of goodwill in the hour of anger.
Come with a smiling face in this hour of anger.
