قَدindeed رابَنيhas made me uneasy مِنfrom دَلوِيَmy bucket اِضطِرابُهاits swaying
قَد رابَني مِن دَلوِيَ اِضطِرابُها
وَالنَأيُand remoteness فيin بَهراءَBahrāʾ وَاِغتِرابُهاand its estrangement
وَالنَأيُ في بَهراءَ وَاِغتِرابُها
My bucket’s swaying has indeed made me uneasy,
Her bucket's constant sloshing troubled me,
And its remoteness in Bahrāʾ, and its estrangement.
As did her banishment 'mid barren dunes;
إِنif لاnot تِجِئit comes مَلأىfull يَجِئwill come قِرابُهاnearly its fill
إِن لا تِجِئ مَلأى يَجِئ قِرابُها
If it does not come full, it will come nearly full.
Were she not full, then filled she'd surely be.
