إِنَّكَindeed you لَوif رَأَيتَنيyou had seen me وَالقَسراand al-Qasr
إِنَّكَ لَو رَأَيتَني وَالقَسرا
مُجَشَّرَينِboth turned out to pasture قَدalready رَعَيناwe grazed شَهراfor a month
مُجَشَّرَينِ قَد رَعَينا شَهرا
Indeed, had you seen me and al-Qasr,
Were you to see me and my friend,
Both turned out to pasture, having grazed for a month,
Barefoot, shepherding for a month,
لَمnot تَرَyou see فيamong الناسِthe people حَشراa lean man
لَم تَرَ في الناسِ حَشرا
اَتَمَّmore fully formed مِنّاthan us قَصَباًin limb-bones وَسَيُراand in sinews
اَتَمَّ مِنّا قَصَباً وَسَيُرا
You would have seen no lean man among men
You would not find among people a pair
More fully formed than we in bones and sinews.
