أغشىI brave المَهالِكَdeadly perils بِالرِجالِwith men وَلاand do not
أغشى المَهالِكَ بِالرِجالِ وَلا
أُعطِيَI give المَقادَةَthe reins سائِميone who subjects me to الحَقراhumiliation
أُعطِيَ المَقادَةَ سائِمي الحَقرا
I brave deadly perils with men, and do not
The brave are shrouded by death's veil, yet I
yield the reins to one who subjects me to humiliation.
Will never yield leadership to the base and vile
