هُمُ عَرَّضوا لِلْبَيْنِ رُوحي فَأَعْرَضُوا

هُمُ عَرَّضوا لِلْبَيْنِ رُوحي فَأَعْرَضُوا

فَوَدَّعْتُ رُوحي حينَ وَدَّعْتُهُمْ مَعَا

فَوَدَّعْتُ رُوحي حينَ وَدَّعْتُهُمْ مَعَا

They exposed my soul to parting, then turned away.

They displayed my soul to separation, so they turned away

So I bade my soul farewell at the same time as I bade them farewell.

So I bade farewell to my soul when I bade them farewell together

فَلَو رُدَّ فِيَّ الرُّوحُ بَعْدَ فِراقِهِمْ

فَلَو رُدَّ فِيَّ الرُّوحُ بَعْدَ فِراقِهِمْ

لَما وَجَدَتْ رُوحي لَها فِيَّ مَوْضِعَا

لَما وَجَدَتْ رُوحي لَها فِيَّ مَوْضِعَا

So, if the soul were restored within me after parting from them,

If my soul returned to me after parting from them

My soul would find no place for itself within me.

It would not find in me a place for itself
